PSE+G Chooses Developers for 12MW Solar Energy Projects in New Jersey

PSE&G is starting the New Year by announcing it has selected four sites and developers for over $50 million in investments in 12 megawatts of grid-connected solar energy. Researchers Find UV LED Light Can be Used to Treat Focal Epilepsy

Researchers from the University of Minnesota Medical School discovered that light from an ultraviolet diode (UV LED) reduced "seizure-like" activity in a rat epilepsy model. During the study, UV light released gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) from the "caged" compound carbonyl amino butanoic acid (BC204).

New SEM-Based CD Measurement System Available for Semiconductor Manufacturers

Advantest Corporation (TSE: 6857, NYSE: ATE) today announced availability of its new SEM-based Critical Dimension (CD) measurement system for photomasks. The E3610 and E3620 advanced mask metrology tools, developed and manufactured by Advantest since 2004 on an OEM basis for a leading supplier of metrology systems, are now available directly from Advantest as part of its advanced technology product lineup. Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) technology relies on an electron beam to take measurements and create images on a semiconductor wafer at extremely high resolutions – much greater than those able to be captured by optical microscopes. Semiconductor manufacturers require CD-SEM measurement systems to measure the critical dimension of the miniature-sized circuits in a semiconductor and to assure accuracy in manufacturing.
