Alfalight, Inc., an innovative manufacturer of highly efficient and reliable high-power diode lasers, today introduced a new series of laser pump diodes, the AM6-940B that provides 10 W of 940 nm light output with a high brightness 105 µm 0.15 NA fiber. The high-reliability single-emitter (SE) laser diode includes a thermistor for temperature monitoring, and is available in an uncooled compact 6-pin telecom grade package simplifying PCB mounting. Target industrial markets for the compact, high-power device include pumping fiber lasers, diode-pumped solid state lasers, uncooled fiber amplifier, and direct material processing.
“We are able to leverage our extensive experience with high-reliability telecom devices to deliver a 10 W 940 nm device with an exceptional uncooled lifetime in a convenient small form factor,” said Ron Bechtold, vice president of sales and marketing at Alfalight. “This is the first of a family of 9xx nm 10W devices that we will introduce in 2008, as we continue to drive down the $/W ratio to deliver increased value to our customers.”
Availability
The new Alfalight 10 W 940 nm laser pump diodes are available in a 6-pin industrial grade package. Engineering samples are available now and production volumes will ship in March of 2008. Pricing is available on request.
