VITRONIC Machine Vision Middle East and its Qatar partner ITQAN Holding have achieved an order of 26 PoliScan systems, marking its second order in the State of Qatar.

Out of 26 systems being installed, 16 systems will be utilized for speed enforcement, while the other ten will be deployed as integrated solutions for speed and red light enforcement.
The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, an operating company for Doha airport is the company’s end customer in Qatar, which benefits from the precision high-performance solutions of VITRONIC. Thus, the new systems will be installed on the Airport Road which remained unconstructed till 2011. Once deployed, road safety and enforcement will be enhanced.
The implementation of PoliScan systems will contribute to assured traffic safety on this major access road. As a result, the occurrence of road accidents will subsequently be reduced, ensuring improved safety and protection. The operation of PoliScan systems is based on a LIDAR based measurement principle. The position and speeds of each vehicle in the tracking zone will be captured by a scanning laser. This method helps detect violations by drivers on multiple lanes. Besides radar, laser-based measurement operations are being carried out effectively in curves and in road work areas.
