Intertek Announces Two-Fold Capacity Expansion for Lake Forest PV Testing Lab

The testing and certification service provider, Intertek reported that it has increased the capacity for PV testing at its Lake Forest lab in California. The company has doubled the capacity to meet the increasing demand for the solar photovoltaic products as well as to mark its dedication in offering fastest project turnaround in the industry.

The state-of-the-art Lake Forest testing lab features environmental chambers, impact and mechanical loading apparatus, solar simulators, rain & hail testers and other related equipment. The lab had started testing photovoltaic products in October 2008 and from then expanded capacity to include CEC and FSEC energy efficiency testing, performance testing, and Building Integrated Photovoltaics. The company also offers ETL Mark to get compliance with standards for safety in Europe and North America.

The IECEE CB Scheme accreditation from the lab enables the company to offer one set of tests for the manufacturers with access to over 40 member countries. This helps the manufacturers to save costs and minimize time-to-market.

The Intertek’s Program Director for Photovoltaic & Semiconductor division, Sunny Rai said that their faster project turnaround policy and the solar industry’s organic growth have increased the demand for their testing services beyond expectations.
