CapRock Communications has chosen the terrestrial connectivity services suite of Alpheus Communications. Under the collaboration, the company will leverage Alpheus’ metro fiber network and SAS 70 Type II data centers to offer dependable circuit access and related services to the customers.
As per the deal, the company will leverage Alpheus’ services for redundancy, interconnection, connectivity and colocation for its global connectivity and teleport circuits in Houston. These services were earlier offered to CapRock customers by Alpheus and other service providers.
The CEO of CapRock Peter Shaper stated that their data and voice traffic have to be transported to various parts of the world. They wanted a partner who can provide a wide fiber-optic network and a well-established data center to support their operations in Houston. Hence they selected Alpheus who provides seamless connectivity management services, he noted.
Doung Tutt, the company’s COO, said that their customers work in different time zones and so the partner should have the capability to provide support services at any time. With its 24/7 Network Operations Center, Alpheus enables them to contact an expert whenever they need, Tutt added. According to Alpheus’ CEO Paul Hobby, this is an outstanding collaboration as terrestrial fiber networks and wireless satellite communications require each other to support their services.
