VTN Selects ADVA’s Optical Networking Solution to Offer Advanced WDM Services

ADVA Optical Networking today announced that Vietnam’s largest telecommunications carrier, Vietnam Telecoms National (VTN), has deployed the ADVA FSP 3000 to provide managed Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) connectivity services to enterprises in that country. The solution has already been deployed at major financial institutions in Vietnam.

VTN deployed the ADVA Optical Networking solution to ensure it can offer the most advanced and reliable disaster recovery and data center connectivity services to its customers. ADVA Optical Networking’s support for lowest-latency transport and the 4G and 8G Fibre Channel protocols enables VTN to offer some of today’s fastest and most highly competitive solutions. In addition, the Optical Line Monitoring (OLM) technology of the FSP 3000 improves the transport capacity of VTN’s fiber-optic network and identifies defects and other issues that arise in the fiber backbone.

“We needed a high-speed solution that would expand our portfolio of services for enterprise customers,” explained Nguyen Thanh Khiet, vice director of VTN. “We closely reviewed the equipment of four technology vendors and selected ADVA Optical Networking because of its broad range of interoperability qualifications with major storage vendors and overall suitability for our client base. Our service portfolios are now stronger than ever, and the FSP 3000’s low power and space consumption continue to contribute cost savings to our bottom line.”

The VTN network traverses the entire length and width of Vietnam, boasting a network of 1,000 customers across more than 3,000 kilometers. Holding responsibility for the nation’s long-distance telephone network, VTN also offers a range of enterprise services to a business population whose economy is ever-more dependent on high-capacity network connectivity. VTN’s enterprise offerings include Virtual Private Network (VPN) and leased-line services, video conferencing, television signal transmission, IP Centrex services and much more.

“Enabling our customers to thrive in a demanding environment is one of our topmost priorities,” confirmed Lucas Hsu, president for Asia-Pacific at ADVA Optical Networking. “By working closely with VTN through the tender period, and continuing a close working relationship throughout the installation process, we helped VTN deploy a solid network that will help the company provision new services quickly and, most importantly, drive revenue. Delivering only the most reliable services will enable VTN to maintain customer satisfaction rates at the highest levels.”

The ADVA Optical Networking solution was implemented in partnership with systems integrator, FC Co., Ltd, which will continue to maintain and monitor the network in the future. The ADVA FSP 3000 is a scalable WDM system specifically designed for service providers and large enterprises that require a flexible, cost-effective system that multiplexes, transports and protects high-speed data, storage, voice and video applications.
