Lighting Science Group (Pink Sheets: LSCG) is democratizing LED lighting by offering a new line of LED products with approximately 50 percent more lumens (light output) than competing products, at a dramatically lower retail price.
Americans can now start lowering energy cost without sacrificing light quality by installing Lighting Science Group's new DEFINITY line of LED light bulbs. Built in the USA by American workers, the DEFINITY LED line includes A19, PAR38, PAR30, PAR20, MR16, and G25 bulb types that are all dimmable and will last nearly 20 years. By way of comparison, Lighting Science Group's DEFINITY LED A19 bulb has a longer life and retails at approximately half the suggested retail price ($20 vs. $40) of GE's recently announced, but not available until later this year, Energy Smart A19 bulb that will be made in China.
"The DEFINITY line sets a new standard for lighting performance at an affordable price," said Zach Gibler, Chief Executive Officer, Lighting Science Group. "Built in the USA, the DEFINITY LED bulbs offer the best lumens per dollar package and can save Americans hundreds of dollars in maintenance, replacement, and energy cost. Furthermore, unlike CFLs, the DEFINITY LED bulbs contain no mercury, are completely recyclable, are instant on, and offer outstanding light quality."
To ensure performance and reliability, the DEFINITY LED line was tested under the rigorous LM-79 process by an independent laboratory approved by the U.S. Department of Energy's CALiPER program. These testing results show that the DEFINITY LED bulbs outperform competing products on the market. Moreover, saving green by buying green has been made easier, since the DEFINITY LED bulbs have a payback of one to two years.
"With the phase-out of incandescent light bulbs, Americans can now purchase long-lasting, environmentally responsible and sustainable replacements that makes economic sense--without sacrificing lighting quality," said Gibler.
The suggested retail price of the DEFINITY line of LED light bulbs ranges from $20 to $55, depending on type, and are being offered through lighting distributors and directly by Lighting Science Group.
