Located in sunny Florida, RDV Sportsplex is a premier athletic club and the official training facility of the NBA's Orlando Magic.
With one wall made up of windows from floor to ceiling, ambient light floods the health club space creating a challenging environment for any display. The objective: find a display that could punch through the light to deliver a stunning visual impact for health club users. The solution: the CAPTURE 200 along with two Panasonic 6000 ANSI Lumen Projectors. The result: a display that emits 880 nits in 240 foot-candles of ambient light.
"Due to the intense lighting conditions, our only option was LED – until we saw a demo of CAPTURE. Not only did the CAPTURE Display deliver the image performance we desired for our customers, but did so at a fraction of the cost of LED which was particularly attractive," noted Ken Runge, director of property management for RDV Sportsplex.
The CAPTURE 200 is a 16:9 format optical front projection display that measures 8 feet high by 14 1/2 feet wide, and without compromising contrast, returns spectacular images in high ambient light environments to create a superior viewing experience for the audience. The clarity and brightness of these images rival those of plasma, cube walls, tiled LCDs, and LED displays.
"This clearly demonstrates the efficacy of CAPTURE'S optical projection screen technology, allowing green, low-power, cost-effective projection solutions to be deployed in extreme lighting conditions where in the past only high-power, expensive technologies were a viable option," said Gary Quasebarth, director of sales and application engineering for AccelerOptics.
