Nissan Stadium to Install Mitsubishi’s Diamond Vision Displays at Athletic Facility

Nissan Stadium, an athletic facility in Japan, has placed an order for Mitsubishi Electric’s Diamond Vision LED display systems. The stadium is the largest athletic facility in Japan and can accommodate 72,000 people. Mitsubishi Electric manufactures electronic and electrical equipment for various applications.

The LED displays will be the first HD Diamond Vision displays to be installed in Japan. The large displays will replace the stadium’s existing CRT main display. The installation will commence in December 2010 and will conclude in March 2011.

Mitsubishi Electric predicts that the displays will cut down energy consumption by about 60% than the CRT display. Reduced power consumption is achieved with the help of Mitsubishi’s LED and electric power control technology.

Both displays have a 22 m x 9 m full HD screen with high-luminance LEDs arranged in a dot pitch on two side stands of the stadium. The large displays will display all the data that are necessary for the sporting events.

Mitsubishi Electric has installed a number of other Diamond Vision displays across the world. The most recent installation included the 1,513-inch Diamond Vision displays at the Fukuoka Kyotei.
