Axsys Technologies, a division of General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, delivered two V14 MSII camera systems to the Dekalb County Police Department and successfully completed the ground and flight training for the department’s pilots and tactical flight officers.
The systems have been installed on two AS350B2 helicopters operated by the department’s Aerial Support Unit, headquartered in Tucker, Ga. General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems is a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD).
The Axsys V14 MSII system is a fully digital, multi-sensor imaging device designed to provide surveillance and detection capabilities for law enforcement, military and public utilities. It incorporates a proprietary high-performance computer, HD video processor and power conditioning unit, the HDU-900. With the system’s Electro-Optical/Infra-Red (EO/IR) sensor technology, lens stabilization and continuous zoom capabilities, the V14 MSII delivers high-performance, precise images.
DeKalb County is Georgia’s third largest county with more than 700,000 residents. The County consists of a portion of Atlanta, Avondale Estates, Chamblee, Clarkston, Decatur, Doraville, Dunwoody, Lithonia, Pine Lake, Stone Mountain and Tucker.
