Cablevision Argentina Selects Enablence to Deliver FTTB Services

Enablence Technologies Inc. ("Enablence" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:ENA), a leading supplier of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) equipment for triple-play residential and business services and optical components and subsystems for access, metro and long-haul markets, has achieved certified supplier status with Cablevision Argentina, its largest client to date in the Central American/Latin American market, to roll-out fibre-to-the-business (FTTB) services.

Cablevision Argentina is the nation's largest cable television provider, with more than 3.2 million subscribers in 96 urban markets across the country. Through Fibertel brand, it provides high-speed Internet to businesses in Buenos Aires and other regions of Argentina.

Eager to respond to the growing bandwidth and Quality of Service demands of its commercial Fibertel customers, Cablevision Argentina embarked on a program to qualify and select a new platform for highspeed voice and data services that would allow it to deliver more bandwidth to larger commercial customers. After engaging in extensive trials with offerings from a number of competing vendors, Cablevision Argentina selected Enablence.

Enablence has already provided equipment, services and support as part of the deployment trials and expects to continue building on this base in coming years. Cablevision Argentina has selected Enablence's flagship TRIDENT7 Universal Access Platform, Optical Line Terminals, Optical Networking Terminals and the Element Management Suite. Initial expectations are for 500 to 1,000 FTTB subscribers to come online. This rate of adoption is expected to increase, once the TRIDENT7 has further proven itself in the field and Cablevision deems it the ideal platform upon which to roll-out FTTH services, including data, voice and IP video, to residential subscribers in new Greenfield developments.

"Enablence was able to customize for us the comprehensive platform necessary to meet the evolving needs of our commercial subscribers," said Ing. Nicolas Vidal, Analista Senior Telecomunicaciones Gerencia Ingenieria (Senior Analyst) "Not only does the TRIDENT7 provide the flexibility and scalability we require in a compact footprint, but Enablence provides a level of service and a proactive approach to understanding and serving our business that other vendors simply cannot match."

"This is a major step forward for Enablence to expand its market presence in Central and Latin America," said Tim Thorsteinson, president and COO of Enablence. "We are confident that our engagement with Cablevision Argentina will continue to grow as its residential and business subscribers realize the advantages of the ultra-fast voice, data and HDTV services that only a fiber-based network can provide."
