Vytran, an innovative supplier of fiber fusion splicing, assembly and fiber-based glass processing solutions, will demonstrate its precision optical fiber processing equipment at the Photonics West 2010 exhibition from January 26-28 in San Francisco, California. The company will also feature its products and technologies at the affiliated Biomedical Optics (BiOS) exhibition on January 23-24.
“We’ll be running optical fiber processing demos, including filament fusion splicing, large-diameter fiber cleaving and fiber recoating, at our Photonics West booth,” said Jean-Michel Pelaprat, Vytran president and CEO. “It’s an ideal chance for attendees to see the processes in real time, ask questions and get a sense of how our unique equipment and technical advisory could help improve or enable their own fiber-based applications.”
Vytran’s equipment is used from R&D through high-volume manufacturing in markets ranging from fiber laser and optical communications to sensing, aerospace and medical. The company’s complete product lineup includes fully integrated workstation and discrete process tools for optical fiber stripping, cleaning, cleaving, splicing, recoating and testing.
Vytran’s Photonics West booth is 1939 and BiOS booth is 8014. At Photonics West, the company will feature its GPX-3000 series of glass processors, LDC-200-G fiber cleaver, PTR-200 series of fiber recoaters and proof testers, and FFS-2000 splicing workstation. Vytran will also display samples of fiber laser components such as tapers, combiners, end-caps, probes, fiber terminations and lenses that have been produced using its unique equipment.
Dr. Baishi Wang, Vytran director of technology, will also give a technical presentation titled “High Powered Fused Fiber Laser Components” on Tuesday, January 26 at 12:30 p.m. in the Moscone Center South Hall, Demo Area 1. In his presentation, Dr. Wang will describe component fabrication techniques, discuss fiber fusion fabrication of fused fiber components for 1kW lasers and beyond, and give application examples.
