Intermec Technologies Unleashes Upgraded Versions of its Industrial Printers

Intermec Technologies (NYSE: IN) today announced enhanced versions of seven industrial printers – the PD41, PD42, PF2i, PF4i, PM4i, PX4i and PX6i. The improvements include all-in-one printer programming languages, increased memory, and stronger network security and flexibility.

The products equip operations, IT and business managers in warehouse, transportation and logistics, and manufacturing with smart, strong and secure bar code printers that address the growing demand for increased productivity, reduced application complexity, and lower total cost of ownership.

Pago Group, the leading international supplier of labels and labeling systems, is one of the first companies to integrate the new industrial printers into its product line. Pago resells the PF4i and PX4i industrial printers, and integrates the PX4i into the PAGOPrint label printers and PAGOMat print and apply machines.

“Pago partners with Intermec because of the exceptional functionality of its products and the market demand for them,” said Heinz Gerber, Product Manager for Printer and Software. “The new industrial printers build on the industry-leading performance that Intermec customers appreciate and expect, and integrate such robust new features that will enable us to take our operations and our customer’s experiences to the next level.”

The upgrades to the industrial printer family align with the three pillars of Intermec printing excellence:

SMART

The printers feature Intermec Smart Printing™ Technology enabling companies to deploy the printers as stand-alone smart clients running custom applications to reduce errors and improve process efficiencies. This capability eliminates the need for a host computer and its associated support costs, and delivers a complete solution at a lower total cost of ownership.

In addition, with Intermec’s new, all-in-one printer programming language design, and integrated SmartSystems™ remote management software, businesses can benefit from seamless deployment, integration and reconfiguration in existing Intermec or mixed printer environments.

STRONG

With metal construction throughout and an enhanced label self-strip feature, the new printers are ruggedized to maximize uptime in mission-critical applications. Their proven durability and long duty-cycles provide peace of mind to businesses whose competitive survival depends upon continuous uptime and rock-solid reliability in their operations.

SECURE

The PD41, PD42, PF2i, PF4i, PM4i, PX4i and PX6i are available with highly secure (WPA2) wireless connectivity, and are the only Cisco CCX and Wi-Fi certified industrial printers available on the market. Unique to this printer class, they also offer standard support for IPv4 and IPv6 network protocols, providing flexibility and scalability to changing network infrastructures while ensuring network integrity.

“For decades businesses have purchased Intermec technology because of its strength, intelligence and security,” said Tom Roth, director of Intermec Printer Marketing. “These impressive enhancements illustrate Intermec’s commitment to exceeding customer expectations by delivering solutions that meet the need for rugged, multi-functional, highly reliable printing.”
