ANNOUNCING the upcoming 2019 Optical Metrology for Smart Decision Making meeting taking place on Thursday 10th October in The Jaguar Lounge, Ricoh Arena, Coventry at  Photonex 2019.

Enlighten Conference

The purpose of Optical Metrology is to make smart decisions in industry and healthcare that lead to cost-effective processes and treatment. This meeting brings together leaders from the industry and academia to discuss latest developments and the latest innovative techniques.

In industry: this ranges from materials analysis, product testing, manufacturing and inspection techniques and health monitoring of structures in service.

In healthcare: this is cost-effective, fast treatment, preventative monitoring of patients and monitoring the wider environment for pollutants.

For global competitiveness and the health and wellbeing of its inhabitants the UK has an obligation to make these smart decisions. New developments in Optical Metrology will enable this using AI (artificial intelligence) and the IoT (internet of things).

Keynote speaker: Dr Claudiu Giusca from Cranfield University will explain how the digital world has an extraordinary ability to provide new opportunities and enormous wealth by constantly challenging traditional technologies and existing ways of working.

This meeting is for scientists, engineers, researchers and product developers and will highlight principles and systems available for metrology along with novel applications in industry and healthcare. Whilst this meeting is free to attend we do ask that attendees register to attend on the Enlighten Conference website

The full programme and speaker abstracts are available on the website.
