Teleste has won the first stage of the public tender, which relates to customer network optical equipment deliveries for the French public authority SIEA (Syndicat Intercommunal d'énergie et de e-communication de l'Ain).
The SIEA is responsible for the energy and telecommunications management of 419 municipalities in the province of Ain in eastern France. This is one of the first major supplies of equipment for a Fibre to the home (FTTH) solution based on RFoG (Radio Frequency over Glass) technology in Europe.
Teleste was selected as the equipment supplier for the first phase of the tender, and the selection includes an option to supply equipment for the second phase as well. The value of the deliveries for the first phase stands at approximately two million euros, and the equipment will be delivered to the customer in the third and fourth quarters of 2013.
The estimated value of the deliveries for the second phase is about EUR 1.5 million. Possible confirmation for implementing phase two of the project will be available by the end of the last quarter of the year in 2013.
