Motorola Mobility has launched the WT24004 (Workgroup Terminal) that expands the efficiencies of its Passive Optical LAN solution. Motorola's WT24004 cuts down the network complexity by consolidating Passive Optical LAN (POL) connectivity in applications having high concentration of end users as well as IP-enabled devices, like security cameras, wireless access points, and security badge readers.
The WT24004 is a high-density rack-mounted modular workgroup terminal of Motorola extends up to 16 Gb Ethernet ports in addition to fostering a series of advanced IP voice, data, and IP video services extended over a converged fiber-based LAN. In addition, it also supports the crucial Power over Ethernet (PoE). Several IP-enabled devices, including wireless access points are used in areas lacking local power. By adding WT24004 to its POL series, Motorola will enhance enterprise value on further simplification of LAN deployment at minimal total cost of ownership (TCO) than traditional LAN architectures. Motorola's POL and WT24004 can be ideally deployed for high-density-Ethernet deployment environments within financial services, health care, government agencies and military applications.
Motorola's WT24004 extends convenient and secure (128-bit AES) LAN infrastructure leading to minimal total lifecycle costs of IT infrastructures. It enables simple deployment of Voice Over IP (VoIP), ultra high-speed data services, and IP video to high concentrations of users and devices. It provides line-rate gigabit services extending up to 20 km from the Enterprise Aggregation Switch (EAS) for users and devices within the enterprise. It leverages the modular nature of the workgroup terminal to attain improved deployment flexibility. Furthermore, it helps maintain the premium levels of uptime, thereby benefiting the employees.
