Panasonic System Communications Company of North America has introduced a sophisticated high-output workgroup scanner called the KV-S106, which features Panasonic's image capture plus technologies, advanced image processing, LED scanning illumination and proprietary active double-feed prevention.
The KV-S1065C also incorporates forward-design technologies that offer advanced paper-handling capability to the scanner. Its active double-feed protection system and independently rotating rollers avoid double feeding and reduce paper skewing. Its other superior features are mixed paper and hard-card scanning, automatic-output speed decrease for short documents and ultrasonic detection of non-standard papers, including envelopes and papers with attached ‘sticky notes.’
Moreover, the KV-S1065C’s dog-ear detection feature stops the scanning automatically and temporarily when a scanned image is not lost due to an extremely skewed document or an accidentally folded corner. Its other advanced features include automatic image emphasis for line- and text-sharpening, an energy-efficient LED scanning-section illumination array, and auto contrast and brightness optimization of scanned images, even for documents with different paper and text colors.
Panasonic's image capture plus software package is an ideal productivity powerhouse that automates usually time-consuming multi-phase tasks, including rotation of documents introduced into the feeder in various directions. This software allows users to scan and save documents directly into editable OCR text or as bitmap, TIFF, JPEG and PDF files into specific folders. It also allows the production of text-searchable PDF and PDF/A files in an easy single-step process.
The Kofax VRS-certified scanner decreases the time required for manual document preparation and improves the scanned image quality. It is offered with both ISIS and Twain drivers.
