NEC Display Solutions of America has expanded its P Series of large-screen displays with the introduction of a 55" model called the P552.
The P552 is a professional-grade LCD display designed for round-the-clock operation in areas, including retail stores, healthcare facilities, public information environments, airports and quick-service restaurants. The industrial-strength model features internal self-diagnostic temperature sensors, superior thermal protection and fan-based technology to avoid overheating.
The LCD display is equipped with digital loop-through capabilities, open pluggable specification (OPS) technology and built-in 10 W speakers. It is enhanced with decreased depth and consumes 10% less power. Its OPS-compliant expansion slot complies with Intel standard that aims to regulate and facilitate slot-oriented digital signage installations.
The P552 has a full HD resolution of 1080 p and contrast ratio of up to 4000:1. Its maximum brightness is 700 cd/m2. It features external control and remote diagnostics such as DDC/CI, IR Remote, RJ45 LAN and RS-232C. It also features TileMatrix technology that enables for video walls of up to 100 displays, and carbon footprint meter that monitors and measures the conservation of green gas releases. Its integrated NTSC/ATSC analog/digital tuner enables for high-definition broadcast capabilities. It is offered with optional products and accessories such as wall mounts, stands, internal OPS, external PCs, first-generation option cards and media players.
According to Keith Yanke, NEC Display Solutions’ Director of Product Marketing, Large-Screen Displays and Projectors, the company always considers the overall cost of ownership when developing new products. The company was able to produce a highly efficient display with salient features of the P Series, he added.
