Urban Communications has declared that the company has improved its service capacity by the purchase of novel infrastructure equipment for electronic networking. MRV communications, a global provider of optical communications solutions, manufactures the optical wave division multiplexer (WDM) and platform aggregated with a carrier Ethernet integration technology, which constitutes the electronic network infrastructure equipment.
With the use of WDM and Ethernet technology, the core equipment will rapidly raise the capacity of the company’s fiber optic network without using much fiber. MRV communications provides technology services to municipalities, enterprises, utilities and telecommunication service providers.
The MRV’s optical wave division multiplexer provides a single optical fiber from a number of signals by using distinct colors or wavelengths of laser light. The WDM also improves individual fiber’s value by multiplying the capacity of each strand of fiber. The Ethernet aggregation helps to integrate signals from various transmission protocols, which ensures in lowering the expenses and the same time, expanding the market.
In the year 2012, Urban Communications is expected to offer internet facility and data transfer at a speed of about 10 Gbps, with the implementation of MRV’s WDM and aggregated Ethernet technology. Since the company is able to offer improved internet service and data transfer, the company is able to satisfy a wide range of customer’s requirements by providing improved quality, highly reliable and secured services. The company is currently performing the configuration and testing of the core electronic network infrastructure equipment, which will be completely deployed with primary customer service delivery expected before the end of the year.
