Broadlight Introduces XGPON Solutions

Fibre access process supplier, Broadlight has announced that it has launched the ITU-T G.987 XGPON OLT and ONT solutions to meet the demands of higher bandwidth by end users. The solutions are compliant to the standards and support 2.5Gbps upstream and 10Gbps downstream.

The growing demand for IP TV and 3DTV require a backhaul technology that is efficient and can be modified according to future needs. The need for a higher split ratio and centralised office consolidation are the driving forces behind market demands. In order to make the XGPON ONT and OLT fully operational, the company is continuously supporting FSAN and the broadband forum. According to Doron Tal, Vice President of the company’s Business Development and Marketing division, the XGPON will help operators to increase their bandwidth and their customers, and simultaneously also help in lowering power consumption costs. He also added that the company is constantly endeavouring to lead the PON processor market by providing XGPON solutions to its customers.

Broadlight is a company that specialises in providing integrated networks and embedded processors for individual customers and centralised office equipments. The company’s quality of fibre grade enhances the fixed mobile networks, fibre access networks provided by power equipment vendors.
