MagnaChip, a Korea-based manufacturer and designer of mixed-signal and analog semiconductor devices, has introduced a range of 4 channel LED drivers for utilisation in LED-TV and LED monitor applications.
These novel device drivers from the company are suitable for the back light unit structures of recently introduced televisions and LED monitors. Every channel has the capability to drive a maximum of 20 LEDs in a 40W LED backlight unit, as it possesses a current balance MOSFET equivalent to 150mA/65V embedded in it.
A large number of built-in protection functions encompassing LED open/short protection, current overload protection, open Schottky diode protection, over voltage protection, etc. improve the functional efficiency and security of the system. The novel products are available in several performance and package specification and options.
Executive Vice President of Power Division of MagnaChip, HK Kim, said that an improved technological base supports the introduction and development of all the novel products of the company such as the 4-channel LED driver. He added that the company will invent and extend its novel LED driver devices matching the Smart TV and 3D TV industry which the company views as a potential growth option for its power solutions business.
MagnaChip has its headquarters in South Korea. The company provides semiconductor products for bulk customer applications. MagnaChip has an experience of 30 years in the industry, providing extensive and wide range of mixed-signal and analog semiconductor platforms in the market, broad manufacturing and engineering process knowledge, and a large portfolio of pending and registered patents.
