Rambus has introduced its latest lighting solutions called Pentelic solutions that enable illumination designers to leverage all the benefits of LEDs to produce sophisticated and economical LED luminaires.
Pentelic solutions incorporate Rambus’ technology and allow licensees to produce high efficacy, edge-lit LED luminaires. The technology offers wide range of design options and accurate control over ray angle. Licensees can reduce their market-reach time using Pentelic solutions, which deal with power deliver, thermal management and optical design.
Rambus’ advancements, including VirtuOptic reflectors, SolidCore reflectors, TruEdge technology and MicroLens optics, are the basis of Pentelic solutions. VirtuOptic reflectors are optics that generate greatly collimated superior-efficacy illumination output, while offering accurate control on ray angle. SolidCore reflectors are small reflectors that offer ultra-intensity beams suitable for spotlights.
TruEdge technology is a LED-to-light guide coupling technology that offers total LED output between 93% and 96% to the light guide. MicroLens optics offer tailored control of ray angle distribution output and uniformity for high application efficacy.
According to the President of Rambus’ Lighting and Display Technology business, Jeff Parker, the Pentelic solutions offer an optical efficiency range between 92% and 95%. The solutions offer accurate control of ray angle that allows the luminaires to optimize the efficacy of lighting application, he added.
Rambus in collaboration with Architecture & Light’s Darrell Hawthorne, a well-known lighting designer, has released a hanging pendent luminaire that offers high efficacy of illumination applications and tailor ray angle control.
