Rambus, a technology licensing company, recently declared that it has entered into a license agreement with energy efficient lighting manufacturer, Fern Howard. Through this agreement, Fern Howard will market its advanced lighting products. These products have been produced as a result of integrating Rambus patented innovations such as MicroLens optics technology.
The President of the Lighting and Display Technology business at Rambus, Jeff Parker said that Fern Howard has enabled Rambus lighting solutions to expand into the markets of Europe and Middle East. Based on Rambus technologies, Fern Howard fixtures will establish and standardize an increased level of application efficiency, architecture and precise control of light that ensure wide applications in bulkhead and utility lighting industry.
The energy-efficient lighting solutions’ market demands show rapid increase, wherein LED lighting products form the basis for manufacturing next-generation fixtures in commercial, architectural, retail, and residential lighting. With Rambus' lighting solutions, general lighting products can incorporate the benefits of LEDs. Based on precision ray angle control and excellent optical efficiency, increased useable light output can be achieved.
The advantageous features of LEDs can be included in low-cost general lighting products by utilizing patented Rambus innovations such as MicroLens light distribution features, multi-function film manufacturing technologies, LED edge-lit optical designs, high-volume, and low-cost light guide panels.
