Department of Defense Awards Multi-Million Dollar Contract to Eye Safety Systems

Idaho-based Eye Safety Systems has received a contract from the Philadelphia-based Department of Defense Logistics Agency Supply Center for optical prescription lens carrier kits.

The $6 million worth award is an initial one year contract with four extendable one year option, which can boost the award to $13.5 million.

The contract is the company’s biggest volume direct contract. Eye Safety Systems (ESS) is one of the 6 companies whose eyewear products have been approved for US Army combat use. ESS is the leading provider for ballistic eyewear throughout the world and the only approved ballistic eyewear provider for the US Marine Corps.

ESS also manufactures, designs and sells eye protection units for fire/rescue, motorsport and law enforcement professionals in over 100 countries and also supplies eye-shields, ballistic lenses, ballistic sunglasses, structural goggles and accessories.
