Coherent Introduces Smart Lasers for Continuous-Wave Applications

Manufacturer of laser solutions, Coherent has unveiled a new range of laser devices that have  plug-and-play options for continuous-wave applications.

The Obis integrated lasers are based on optically pumped semiconductor laser and direct diode technologies and utilize sophisticated miniaturized components.

Obis Lasers

The lasers integrate all the control functions inside the laser head, unlike conventional architectures. The laser series includes 785, 660, 640, 488, 445, 405 and 375 nm at seven wavelengths ranging from the UV to the near-IR. All models have a maximum power of 100 mW and each has a circular TEM00 output beam.

The devices are ideal for inspection, metrology and life sciences applications as well as fluorescence-based techniques such as confocal microscopy and flow cytometry. Each model provides electrical, optical and mechanical functions and allows end users to switch wavelengths in any kind of setup.

The laser devices offer various functionalities to customers for enhanced ease of operation and integration. These functionalities include numerous operational monitoring functions and interface control options. The lasers also permit high-speed analog and digital modulation of up to 150 MHz.
