BIOLASE’s Waterlase iPlus All-Tissue Laser Receives CE Mark Approval

Manufacturer of dental lasers, BIOLASE Technology announced that the Waterlase iPlus System dual-wavelength all-tissue laser has received the approval for the Conformite Europeene (CE) Mark.

The approval allows the company to start the commercial sale of its laser system across the European Union.

The combination of the Waterlase iPlus and its Intuitive Power Control provides versatility, enhanced control and offers twice the rate of cutting speed and amount of power for laser dentist users. The laser provides no pain or less pain, which avoids the risk of cross-contamination related with traditional burs and drills. It reduces the necessity for local anesthetic in restorative conditions and aids in preserving the body tissue biologically undamaged.

BIOLASE Technology’s Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, Federico Pignatelli stated that the iLase handheld laser and the Waterlase iPlus will be unveiled at the International Dental Show (IDS), in Germany, from 22 to 26 March, 2011. Currently, the company is accepting orders for the laser products, Pignatelli said.
