Daylight’s JammIR Laser Systems Complete Flight Tests on U.S. Military Helicopter Platforms

Manufacturer of high-power illumination and imaging solutions, Daylight Solutions announced that its JammIR laser systems have successfully completed a number of flight tests onboard the US military helicopter systems.

The company’s JammIR multi-wavelength laser systems are suitable to operate under harsh environments specified by military fixed-wing and rotary aircraft.

The laser systems are ideal for use in various applications such as infrared countermeasures (IRCM), gas imaging, standoff detection, wide area illumination, and chemical imaging. They include an optional fiber-optic switch within the laser that directs multi-Watt output to a maximum of six output ports in a minimum of 0.1 s. In addition, the laser systems provide multi-wavelength, multi-Watt output in a conformal, lightweight package.

The JammIR series can be configured with a maximum of eight diverse wavelengths. The laser systems offer near diffraction-limited beam quality for applications needing less than four wavelengths. The output from the laser devices can be produced into free space.
