MicroVision, a company specializing in PicoP display engine technology, has introduced a Mini-Tablet prototype that includes the PicoP laser display engine, at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES).
The prototype provides wide viewing experience in its compact form factor. The laser-scanning technology developed by MicroVision is ideal for embedded mobile applications.
Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) can use the PicoP Development Kit to all the tools required to develop systems that include the PicoP display engine. The integrated pico projector shows widescreen, vibrant images with diagonal size of up to 100’’. The pico projector provides improved content sharing, social networking and gaming experiences.
The architecture of the pico projector accommodates various mobile operating systems. The existing design incorporates the Android 2.2 operating system. In addition, it consists of a motion sensor, 720p camcorder module, HDMI in and out, 3.5’’ capacitive touch screen, and display support for user-generated content, web content and applications on mobile OS.
