Optech Acquires Camera and Imaging Company, Geospatial Systems

Lidar survey instrument manufacturer, Optech has acquired a New York-based imaging and camera company, Geospatial Systems (GSI). The imaging company designs and manufactures metric imaging systems that are used in airborne applications, including the ALTM lidar systems from Optech.

The existing portfolio of GSI will be retained as such and will support the requirements of Optech’s client base. The Rochester, New York branch of GSI, will serve as the base for Optech to develop the imaging systems. In addition, the location will be extended to function as the base for Optech’s sales and support operations in the US for mobile, terrestrial and airborne applications.

GSI offers the TerraPix platform that comprises various metric sensors. The TerraPix delivers custom-made products for Tactical Intelligence Reconnaissance and Surveillance (ISR), Asset Management, and Airborne Survey and Mapping. Optech’s clients can noew benefit from the complete integration of Optech’s products with GSI’s TerraPix systems.
