Knovel has expanded its total number of subject areas with the addition of Optics and Photonics. The company provides web-based application that combines technical information with search and analytical tools.
The new subject area focuses on the design and modeling of optical systems and components. In addition, the Optics and Photonics subject area offers practice information, calculations, guidelines and technological background for engineers who develop new methods to enhance products using optical components and systems in the design. The optics and photonics technology is utilized in discrete manufacturing applications.
Knovel offers the Optics and Photonics subject area with 78 reference titles that were obtained from various publishers and societies such as World Scientific, Wiley, Springer, SPIE, Elsevier and Cambridge University Press. The subtopic areas included in the optics and photonics are vision science, signal and image processing and sensors, quantum optics, optomechanics, optoelectronics, optical materials, nanophotonics, microfabrication and photolithography, information processing, geometric and physical optics, communications and biomedical optics.
