Epson Selects Cypress CapSense Solution to Control LED Navigation in Multi-Function Printers

Epson has chosen Cypress Semiconductor’s CapSense capacitive touch system to leverage LED controls and buttons in multi-function printers. Cypress is a company that specializes in capacitive touch-sensing technology solutions, and Epson specializes in multi-function printers.

The Epson Stylus Photo PX660, Stylus Photo TX720WD, Stylus Photo PX720WD, and Artisan 725 multi-function printers feature a control panel with built-in LEDs. The LEDs guide users to perform general operations. The new Epson printers provide various features such as automatic double-sided printing, as well as wired and wireless connectivity.

Cypress’ PSoC-based CapSense solutions meet various designs, and provide enhanced integration and flexibility. In addition, the devices provide ease of operation, water-resistance, and noise immunity for reliable operation.

The Director of CapSense Business Unit at Cypress Semiconductor, Dirk Franklin stated that CapSense facilitates new functionalities for devices like printers. Franklin added that the CapSense solution offers numerous advantages.
