Epson Receives Learning® Magazine 2014 Award for its PowerLite® X15 and DC-20 Document Camera

Epson, the number-one selling projector brand worldwide1, has received the Learning® Magazine 2014 Teachers' Choice(SM) (TCA) Award for the Classroom for its Epson® PowerLite® X15 and DC-20 document camera. Additionally, the Epson BrightLink® interactive projector was named a winner of District Administration's Readers' Choice Top 100 Products for 2013 Award.

The TCAs is a highly-recognizable annual educational awards program that honors products of exceptional quality and outstanding performance in the classroom and at home, including hardware, software, classroom supplies, and more. Each TCA for the Classroom nominated product was exclusively reviewed by a team of teachers in the classroom and judged on quality, instructional value, ease-of-use, and innovation. Only products that met the teachers' stringent standards were chosen to receive an award. This year, only the top 20 percent of scores were deemed winners.

District Administration's Readers' Choice Top 100 Products are chosen annually by superintendents and other senior school district leaders. Winners are the most innovative products used to help districts excel. The winning products, selected from a record 1,800-plus nominations, were products that received the highest number of nominations and best descriptions from K-12 leaders.

"One of our main goals in developing Epson education products and technologies is to make the classroom experience a much more engaging and user-friendly environment for teachers and students alike," said Heather Johnston, product manager, K-12 Education Marketing, Epson America, Inc. "The recognition from these prestigious education award committees reaffirms that our whole suite of products are helping to do just that."

Color Brightness Specification and Projector Performance

The new color brightness specification (measuring red, green and blue) published by the Society of Information Display (SID) allows consumers to compare projector color brightness without conducting a side-by-side shootout. With today's high definition content, teachers and students want to enjoy content with higher quality in brighter environments. For a truly impressive image, projectors need to offer both high color brightness and high white brightness. High color brightness enables an even brighter color image for larger screen sizes and on a larger variety of screen materials. Without sufficient color brightness, images may be muddy, soft and lose detail, even in a dark room. Whether projecting a presentation, interactive lesson or movie, Epson's line of education projectors deliver consistent color brightness and white brightness, allowing students and teachers to view life-like reproduction of any content.
