Provider of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) devices, Enablence Technologies announced that it will continue working with En-Touch Systems to deliver optical connections to residents in the greater Houston region.
En-Touch will deploy substantially more Enablence devices to provide sophisticated voice, data, and video services over fiber. Majority of the order is for Enablence's gigabit capable ONT products that include the 1320 and 1321 models with RF return. The 1320 model will be utilized to provide swift Internet and voice connectivity, whereas the 1321 model will be utilized to offer broadband multi-play services.
In 2005, En-Touch partnered with Enablence to link greenfield developments with an FTTH network, instead of using an HFC. Nearly 3,700 En-Touch subscribers are now connected to the GE-PON fiber network that is supported by the TRIDENT7 Universal Access Platform of Enablence. The TRIDENT7 platform supports Active Ethernet Optical Network, Gigabit Ethernet Passive Optical Network, and GPON for FTTx deployment.
En-Touch's Director of Engineering, Jason Bone stated that the company is confident that Enablence's technology would continue to serve and help in expanding the fiber-optic network.
Enablence’s Chief Executive Officer, Tim Thorsteinson commented that constructing new homes is a suitable time to install a broadband architecture that would offer significant ROI in the long-term.
