Developer of telecommunication testers, GAO Instruments has unveiled a new CATV cable fault locator that features an LCD display screen.
The A0500007 cable fault locator is useful to test underground cables for the identification of impedance break points. In addition, the device is suitable to find terminal impedance failures found in HFC systems.
The portable cable fault locator automatically locates and displays the distance of numerous RF cable faults including high resistance points, open circuits, or short circuits. The fault locator uses Time Domain Reflection (TDR) technology to find the faults and displays the results on the LCD screen.
The A0500007 fault locator tests impedance cables of 100, 75, 50, and 25 Ohm up to a length of 2 km. The locator offers an intuitive electronic map pertaining to the time domain picture, thereby enabling easy detection of faults. Furthermore, the device is connectable to a computer for data analysis and file upload.
