Test instrument provider, GAO Comm has launched a new intelligent handheld power meter to measure the relative loss and absolute power in fiber-optic cables.
The 5302 multi-functional power meter is suitable for using in fiber optics test laboratories, and CATV and telecommunications maintenance. The device has efficient data storage, provides accurate test results, and automatically identifies frequencies.
The handheld power meter can test the optical power between the wavelengths ranging from 800 to 1650 nm and shows the test results on a large high-resolution LCD screen. In addition, the device provides pre-calibrated wavelengths of 1550, 1490, 1310, 1300, 980, and 850 nm for selection.
The power meter supports identification frequencies ranging from 10 to 60 kHz and optical power measurement ranging from -70 to 6 dBm. The device includes an RS232 communication port to facilitate data transfer.
The 5302 power meter features a rapid response time and does not require any warm-up. It consumes minimal power because of its auto-off feature. The handheld power meter is resistant to water and dust and is ideal for field use.
