Midaz Introduces Air-Cooled Laser for Marking Applications

Midaz Lasers has unveiled a new laser called the FLAIR-13 for laser micromachining and marking applications. The laser exhibits a 500 kHz pulse repetition rate with short pulse durations, and delivers an IR average power of 13 W at 100 kHz.

The linearly polarized laser beam allows the utilization of the device in UV and green wavelengths. The FLAIR-13 offers pulse durations as low as 8 ns at 30kHz compared to other DPSS lasers. In addition, the laser device offers improved beam quality and provides short pulse durations at all repetition rates compared to the majority of pulsed fibre lasers.

The FLAIR-13 features a modular design approach and a compact size of 22 cm in length. The laser will replace the currently used sources in laser marking systems, as well as open up new applications that necessitate high throughput with enhanced micromachining and marking. The air-cooling function enabled in the laser makes the device an economical solution that requires no water chiller.
