ZyXEL Introduces VDSL2 Home Gateways with Built-In HPNA Adapter

Provider of broadband access solutions, ZyXEL Communications has launched new range of VDSL2 home gateways. The VSG family, incorporating the VSG1435 and the VSG1432 customer premises equipments (CPEs), feature dual WAN access and an inbuilt HPNA over coax adapter that enables IPTV provisioning. The gateways allow convenient transition from wired copper to optical fiber environments for both subscribers and service providers.

The VSG range offers all the required technology to deliver comprehensive home networking and broadband access services. It features a USB 2.0 port, 4-port 10/100M Ethernet switch, dual WAN capabilities, and a VDSL2 modem. The gateways support numerous deployments options and provide maximum speeds of 45M upstream / 100M downstream over Gigabit Ethernet WAN and copper for fiber. The dual WAN functionality delivers enhanced versatility for service providers when they migrate from one technology to the other.

The VSG1435 CPE also has an inbuilt HPNA adapter for IPTV installations that links the gateway to set-top boxes directly. The HPNA adapter provides Quality of Service features and maximum speeds of 320 Mbps, making it suitable for HD TV channel streaming.

Customers can utilize the VSG family’s 802.11n WiFi network to link all wireless units to a single product. This saves technical support expenses for service providers. The units support TR-069 remote management that helps in decreasing the maintenance and deployment expenses for operators.
