China-based manufacturer of consumer electronics, TCL has signed an agreement with India-based Videocon to provide ACs, LCDs, and CRT TVs. The agreement will allow TCL to provide the solutions to Videocon for the period of 2010 - 2011.
TCL intends to invest $30 million for the expansion of its business in India. The company is currently operating in the country through its subsidiary, TCL India Holdings. The company has been a manufacturer of original equipment to major electronics and appliance organizations in India.
TCL will improve its distribution network in India as a part of the expansion plan. In addition, the company will launch more solutions for the consumers in India. The company has planned to open 10 branch offices, as well as, include another 1000 dealers in the coming year.
The Chairman of TCL Group, Li Dongsheng stated that India is one among the strategic markets in the company’s global expansion plans, as the country is one of the quickly developing global economies.
