Alcatel-Lucent, a provider of broadband networking solutions, announced that it will sign contracts with China Unicom, China Telecom, and China Mobile to offer maintenance and integration services, as well as, network solutions. The three framework contracts are valued at €1.178 billion. The agreements will be inked on November 5, 2010.
Alcatel-Lucent’s agreement with China Unicom is valued at nearly €305 million. Alcatel-Lucent will supply femtocell solutions, managed services, transmission devices, IP routers, fiber-based access platforms, and GSM and WCDMA wireless networking solutions, under the deal. It will also provide solutions for converging TV, internet, and telecom broadcasting networks.
China Telecom’s agreement with Alcatel-Lucent is nearly €343 million, for which the latter will offer transmission instruments, IP routers, DSL and fiber-based access platforms, and CDMA wireless networking solutions. Alcatel-Lucent will deliver IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) platforms, IP routers, transmission devices, TD-SCDMA and GSM wireless networking solutions to China Mobile. The contract with China Mobile is worth nearly €530 million.
Alcatel-Lucent’s contracts will help China Unicom, China Telecom, and China Mobile to improve their respective network capability, and to offer a diverse range of high-quality, high-speed fixed and mobile services.
