Michigan Solid State Lighting Association to Conduct Symposium

The Michigan Solid State Lighting Association will conduct a free symposium on various issues associated with the advanced green, cleantech lighting solutions, on November 10, 2010. The event will be held at the University of Michigan-Dearborn.

The event is targeted for the public; however, the focus is on lighting designers, electrical contractors, municipal officials, architects, engineers, and facility managers. The symposium will be held at Quad E, in the Fairlane Center-North Building.

The symposium will feature presentations and exhibits on the major contract issues related to lighting providers, and indoor applications for the manufacturers of LED-based products. The event will highlight the steps that communities are taking to maximize the lighting efficiency. The symposium will also discuss on the steps taken by the U.S. Department of Energy in supporting solid-state lighting.
