Supplier of high-bandwidth connectivity systems, AboveNet is extending its fiber-optic network to the Baltimore Washington Corridor. Carrier and enterprise customers will be specifically served by three fiber-optic loops present in and between the National Business Park of Maryland, Annapolis Junction, and Columbia Gateway.
The high-bandwidth network of AboveNet, because of the expansion, will be available to various technology and health care firms, systems integrators, and government agencies of the region.
Customers of AboveNet will gain from its fiber-optic area with network potentials in major business centers in Europe and the U.S. The company’s infrastructure incorporates a Tier 1 IP backbone, a network that spans nearly 12,000 route miles, and over 2.3 million fiber miles. The company offers a comprehensive portfolio of IP transit, Long Haul, WDM, and metro Ethernet solutions.
AboveNet’s Director of Mid-Atlantic Sales, Matt Johns stated that the latest network loops expand the company’s solutions to carriers and enterprises that require high bandwidth services to carry out businesses in the Baltimore Washington Corridor. Johns added that the company’s products offer bandwidth services from 100 Mbps to a maximum of 10 Gbps.
