Perceptron Unveils Helix 3D Metrology Solution

Developer of non-contact measurement solutions, Perceptron has unveiled the new Helix 3D metrology solution.

The Helix is a flexible 3D metrology platform that allows manufacturers to do challenging measurement tasks precisely and easily. The platform integrates over 25 years of 3D metrology and laser-triangulation experience with technological advancements to develop a powerful and unique solution.

Helix provides sensors with the Intelligent Illumination technology that enables users to manage all aspects of the sensor’s light source. Image acquisition is optimized by customizing the orientation, density, and quantity of the laser lines in the sensor through user interface.

The user can change the laser lines’ orientation to house the differences between various parts of the same assembly line, increase the laser lines’ number to measure challenging materials, and set laser lines for complex, small features. Intelligent Illumination has the ability to accurately generate complete 3D point clouds, and measure vital dimensional features.

The President of Perceptron, Harry Rittenour stated that the Helix solution is a substantial development in sensor technology, and it showcases a quantum leap in 3D metrology solutions. Helix will offer a powerful tool for its customers to overcome the challenges they meet on a daily basis.
