The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority (VIWAPA) has chosen CIMCON Software’s LightingGale Streetlight Management and Monitoring System, to handle 14,000 streetlights in the U.S. Virgin Islands. CIMCON Software is a company specialized in providing industrial automation systems.
The LightingGale automated plug and play streetlight management system enables switching streetlights ON, only when it is necessary. This reduces maintenance and energy costs, while creating a greener environment. The streetlight management system utilizes the advanced mapping, GPRS/GSM, and RF-Wireless technologies to enable utility personnel to manage and monitor streetlights remotely.
The graphical user interface of the LightingGale allows the system to be managed, operated and configured easily. The plug-and-play functionality of the LightingGale streetlight controllers allows them to be easily installed, with a choice of either removing the photo sensor or to continue utilizing it.
The LightingGale system will be deployed on 9,000 streetlights in St. Croix, 4400 in St. Thomas, and 600 in St. John, in the U.S. Virgin Islands. VIWAPA will also replace 1,200 high-pressure sodium streetlights with LED lights.
