Developer of IP solutions and services, GENBAND announced that the Farmers Mutual Telephone Company, Federated Telephone Cooperative, and Halstad Telephone Company (HTC) have chosen its C15 Compact Softswitch, to provide data and voice communication services for business and residential subscribers. These three organizations received the Broadband Stimulus funds.
HTC used the funds, valued at $11.7 million, to deploy its fiber-optic network. The company has selected the C15 Compact Softswitch to assist in the delivery of latest IP services for underserved communities in North Dakota and Minnesota.
A funding of $3 million was provided to Federated Telephone Cooperative for the development of a Fiber-to-the-Premises (FTTP) data, video and voice network in the Rural Morris, Minnesota telephone exchange. The Farmers Telephone Company awarded a funding of $9.7 million to develop fiber-optic facilities and provide services in rural regions under its service area. Both Farmers and Federated will employ the C15 Compact Softswitch to decrease costs, enhance efficiency, and bolster network capacity. The C15 will also help in delivering latest IP business and residential communication services to the subscribers.
Service providers, by utilizing the C15 Softswitch, can continue to utilize GENBAND’s EWSD, DCO, DMS-100, and DMS-10 line devices, and at the same time upgrading their call control to advanced network architecture. The C15 also considerably decreases the floor space and power requirements by a maximum of 50%, because of its compact and innovative design.
