American Laser Centers today performed its two millionth aesthetic treatment since the company's founding in 2002. As the largest company specializing in laser hair removal, skin rejuvenation and cellulite reduction therapy, American Laser Centers conducts roughly 70,000 treatments each month at its more than 220 locations across the country.
Laser hair removal patient Sheila Greenwood of Merced, Calif. was the recipient of the two millionth treatment today at the American Laser Centers Elk Grove, Calif. clinic, located at 9727 Elk Grove, Florin Road, Suite 120. In recognition of the company's achievement, American Laser Centers has given back to Greenwood, the one lucky client who will receive complimentary beauty services for life, which includes laser hair removal, skin rejuvenation, AmeriSmooth cellulite reduction therapy and skin tightening.
"Our two millionth treatment milestone clearly reflects the increased demand for non-surgical cosmetic procedures," said American Laser Centers' Chief Administrative Officer Kevin Piecuch. "We continue to be the industry leader when it comes to providing high-quality, consistent results to our patients."
American Laser Centers' rate of incidents and injuries is the lowest in the industry. While physicians across the industry report an incident and injury rate of 4 percent of those treated, American Laser Centers' rate is much fewer -- less than 0.05 percent. American Laser Centers' skilled technicians are trained six times per year to ensure constant improvement on technique. Each technician undergoes at least 40 hours of extensive training before becoming certified to operate any American Laser Centers treatment equipment.
In 2006, Americans spent just under $12.2 billion on cosmetic procedures, according to an annual study performed by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. The same study reveals the number of laser hair removal treatments in the U.S. has increased 100 percent from 2002 to 2006. Laser hair removal, American Laser Centers core business, remains one of the most popular non-surgical procedures with roughly 1.5 million treatments performed in 2006.
