TAOS Expands Color Sensor Portfolio with New Products

Texas Advanced Optoelectronic Solutions®, Inc. today announced the addition of multiple products to its existing Color Management Solutions portfolio. The expanded portfolio now offers increased design flexibility, features and options for manufacturers of products where color is mission critical. The new TAOS programmable color sensors provide more cost-effective, lower-power solutions for color discrimination, determination and measurement in a wide variety of applications such as color-point feedback control in solid-state illumination and RGB backlight systems, color adjustment in printers, industrial process quality controls, portable medical diagnostic systems, paper and product handling, toys, and games.

General Mills Renovates and Expands Photography Studios

General Mills’ completely renovated and expanded photography studios are among the largest in-house, full-service food photography and food styling studios in the country. Photographs for all General Mills’ product packaging, cookbooks, magazines, web sites and sales materials are shot internally. The department has 12 employees, plus a pool of more than 100 talented food photographers, food stylists and prop stylists. More than 25,000 images are photographed and archived each year.

Additional Funding for Support of High Resolution Stereo Camera on ESA Mars Express Mission

The research division Planetary Sciences and Remote Sensing under Prof. Dr. Gerhard Neukum at the Institute of Geological Sciences at Freie Universität Berlin will receive additional funding amounting to 2.64 million euros over the next three years. The new funding will be used to support the High Resolution Stereo Camera (HRSC) on the Mars Express mission of the European Space Agency (ESA).
