Study Report from DOE Reveals that PV System Installation Costs Have Declined in the US

Researchers at the Department of Energy's Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) released a new study on the installed costs of solar photovoltaic (PV) power systems in the U.S., showing that the average cost of these systems declined by more than 30 percent from 1998 to 2008. Within the last year of this period, costs fell by more than 4 percent.

Intertek Announces Expansion of IECEE CBTL Capabilities in its California Facility

Intertek (LSE: ITRK), a global leader in testing, inspection and certification services has announced that its Lake Forest, California facility has successfully expanded its IECEE CB Scheme Testing Laboratory (CBTL) capabilities. The new capabilities include product safety and conformity assessment testing and certification of Photovoltaic (PV) modules to IEC Standards. This accreditation allows Intertek to conduct one set of tests that will provide manufacturers with market access to more than 40 countries that participate in the IECEE’s CB Scheme.
