Tokuyama Corporation successfully starts up AIXTRON MOCVD System for development and production of UV LEDs

AIXTRON AG is pleased to announce the successful start-up of an AIXTRON 200/4 RF-S epitaxy reactor at Tokuyama, Japan. The system is used for the development and production of AlGaN based ultra-violet light emitting diodes (UV-LEDs) and is installed at the Tokuyama R&D center in Tsukuba, Japan.

Korean Researchers Improved Color Stability of White OLED

Researchers in Korea claim to have improved the color stability of white organic light-emitting diodes (WOLEDs) over a wide luminance range. The team says that stable color was observed between 100 cd/m2 and 10,000 cd/m2 without any change of color index or spectrum shape.

New High-Brightness LED Driver From National Semiconductor

National Semiconductor Corporation today introduced the industry's first common-anode, current-mode, high-brightness light-emitting diode (LED) driver with pulse-width modulation (PWM) dimming. The LM3433, a member of National's PowerWise(R) energy-efficient product family, drives high-power, high-brightness LEDs in backlighting, projector and solid-state lighting applications.
