Industrial lighting specialist Larson Electronics has announced the release of a new 14 watt LED drop light with a thirty foot cord reel equipped with a step down transformer for low voltage operation. These drop lights are suitable for civilian and military shelters, general maintenance, construction, aircraft interiors, emergency shelters and ship yards.

ForceField Subsidiary to Provide LED Lighting Retrofit for San Diego Community College District

ForceField Energy Inc. ("ForceField"), a designer, seller and distributor of energy products and solutions announced the signing by its award-winning wholly owned subsidiary American Lighting, an LED lighting retrofit contract for the supply and installation of LED lighting products and solutions for the San Diego Community College District to retrofit six different campus locations as well as their Administration Building. The contract has an estimated value of $1.0 million and is expected to be completed by December 31, 2014.

Philips Introduces SlimSurface LED Family of Downlights

Royal Philips, the global leader in lighting, today announced that after flattening the light bulb with Philips SlimStyle, the company has flattened the downlight with the introduction of the Philips SlimSurface LED family of downlights. Providing the illusion of recessed downlighting, but with just a 5/8” surface mount design that is nearly flush with the ceiling, SlimSurface allows lighting to be installed in locations where wall and ceiling clearance can be an issue, such as basements.

Dongbu HiTek Selected by Micrel to Manufacture Camera Flash LED Drivers for Smart Phones

Dongbu HiTek today confirmed that it has been selected by Micrel Inc. to manufacture the Silicon Valley company’s recently introduced camera flash LED drivers for smart phones, tablet computers and digital cameras. Now in volume production, Micrel’s ultra-compact LED drivers are being manufactured with Dongbu HiTek’s specialized 0.18um Analog CMOS process.
