Scientists Create Light-Activated Antimicrobial Surfaces to Fight Hospital Infections

Scientists from UCL have created light-activated antimicrobial surfaces that could help fight the spread of hospital-acquired infections (HAIs). Professor Ivan Parkin (UCL Chemistry) and Professor Mike Wilson (UCL Eastman Dental Institute) have modified silicone with tiny amounts of commonly used dyes.

Michelson Diagnostics Delivers EX1301 OCT Microscope to its First US Customer

Jenoptik Expands Presence in Asia

Jenoptik's Lasers + Material Processing division will in future be represented in the Asian market with a laser application center, in close cooperation with the Korean company Telstar-Hommel Corp.. Byung-Hoon Im, President and CEO of Telstar-Hommel, and Michael Mertin, CEO of JENOPTIK AG, signed the shareholders agreement for JENOPTIK Korea Corp., on July 2nd. Telstar-Hommel will hold 33.3 percent of shares in the company which is headquartered in Pyeongtaek (Gyeonggi Province). With 66.6 percent, JENOPTIK AG will be the majority shareholder.
